Turn on Lighting's beginnings started in 1984 in a home garage with a $1,000 Investment. Tom Lease was part owner of an electrical company and was looking for a lighting line to take care of his customers needs. It was a simple newspaper ad and a company looking for a lighting representative - that was the start of Turn on Lighting.

Seagull Lighting was the first manufacturer to partner with Turn on Lighting. Tom then partnered with a local builder in town to provide lighting for their new homes.

As Tom grew the business, Sondra , Tom’s wife and a former banker, decided it was time to change careers as well and help grow Turn on Lighting. There are two children Shawn (son) and Megan (daughter). They have grown up in the lighting business and today are a big part of the business and will be the future of Turn on Lighting.

We continue to be a mom and pop shop with only 3,000.00 square feet of showroom floor, but we pride ourselves on having something for every budget and style. As most family owned business, we wear all the hats. Each individual is trained in all phases of lighting with customer service being our number one priority. We are about building relationships with our builders and customers. Our only advertising is by word of mouth.
